About Us
Chichester Primary Tutors is a newly established company. Having recently married I decided that I would change from full time teaching to offering supply and private tuition.
I qualified in 1987 with a B ED degree and taught in an Infant School in Bognor Regis from 1987 until 2000. I was then appointed Key Stage One Coordinator at a Primary School and became acting Deputy Head. I was also the Special Needs Coordinator during my time at this school. In 2006 I had a key leadership post in a large Infant School for Portsmouth City Council. I took a year off from teaching in 2008 to spend time with my family and to get married.
I decided to become a supply teacher from January 2009 and to use my skills to help individual children achieve their potential as a private tutor. It was with this in mind that Chichester Primary Tutors was created.
I have enjoyed an exemplary teaching career and have undergone many appraisals and OFSTED inspections. Here are some of the comments made after inspecting my teaching practices:
“Teaching is very good, especially in the Reception class (Yr R/1)”
Teaching and learning in Year R is now a strength and there has been excellent improvement in pupils’ attendance.”
“Standards in Yr R are exceeding the expected early learning goals”
“Consistently very good teaching of children in Yr R stimulates the children’s very good learning in all areas.”
“Children in Yr R are achieving very well in response to very good teaching.”
“Key features in the lessons seen were the wide range of challenging and stimulating activities presented to the children and the way they were very well matched to their needs.”
I was nominated for the National Teaching Awards in 2006.
I have a current CRB check and have references available if requested.
