Initial Consultation

This is a complimentary consultation arranged at a mutually convenient time and location. This is where we can discuss your child’s needs and I can ask questions and offer advice.

If you decide to use Chichester Primary Tutors, I will detail an outline plan that will involve a number of assessments and from these results I will then create a detailed tuition plan to suit your child’s individual needs.

The assessments will be approached in an informal manner as I am able to make assessment judgements quickly through activities that are imaginative and fun.

Points to consider prior to the initial consultation:

What are your main concerns relating to your child’s education?

Does your child have any medical conditions that I need to be aware of?

Are there any behavioural issues that I may need to be aware of?

Is your child on the schools register of Special Educational Needs? If so at what level, for how long and do you have access to their Individual Educational Plan (IEP)?

If you child is in Key Stage 2, I would like to know their end of Key Stage One test results and Teacher Assessments.

Are you aware of the levels they are currently working at? If so, these would be an extremely good starting point for assessment.

Please have available their last school report.

How does your child approach their homework?

What type of reward system works with your child?

In some cases it can help for me to request information from their school teacher. I will only do this with your written permission and at your specific request. There is a small charge to cover my time and expenses.
