Year 6 SATs Revision
At the end of Key Stage 2 pupils take their Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs).
The dates for these tests are set by the government and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and are usually set two years in advance.
In 2010 Key Stage 2 SATs will take place between
Monday 10th May and Friday 14th May.
In 2011 it is planned that Key stage 2 SATs will move to the middle of June.
The structure of Year 6 SATs are as follows:

| Paper B | Calculator allowed | 45 minutes |

There will be a representative sample (approx 5% of Year 6 pupils) that will be required to to take a statutory Science sample test. This will take place on Friday 14th May. Schools will be informed if they are selected to be in the sample in February 2010.

If your child is in Year 6 then now is the time to start revising for the tests.
Chichester Primary Tutors can make the revision process fun, subject specific and will use past test papers on a one to one basis to consolidate skills and ensure that your child has confidence in tackling the SAT questions.
I will use past SAT papers, interactive games, quizzes and revision sites. I have many strategies to help children remember some of the more complex concepts and specific vocabulary. I will report back to the parents after each lesson so that they can consolidate specific areas during the week.
My enthusiasm and ability to create self confidence in pupils, even the most reluctant learners, means that your child will be as prepared as they possibly can be to tackle the SAT tests in May.
