Year 6 SATs Revision

At the end of Key Stage 2 pupils take their Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs).

The dates for these tests are set by the government and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and are usually set two years in advance.

In 2011 Key Stage 2 SATs will take place between

Monday 13th June and Friday 17th June.

The structure of Year 6 SATs are as follows:

National Curriculum Tests in Science at Key Stage 2 have been discontinued. Schools will use teacher assessment of pupils’ attainment in science as the basis for reporting to parents.

There will be a representative sample (approx 5% of Year 6 pupils) that will be required to to take a statutory Science sample test.

If your child is in Year 6 then now is the time to start revising for the tests.
